31 Days to Becoming Less Stressed, More Refreshed. Day 3: Be Mindful of Your Priorities

Be Mindful of Your Priorities - The Cozy Nook

Are you keeping your priorities straight?

I think sometimes we take this for granted and assume that we are living our priorities. After all, they are our PRIORITIES right? It should be easy for us to live them if they are most important in life.

If you take some time to evaluate your life, you may find yourself falling short with regard to keeping some of your priorities straight and that may be causing stress.

When our priorities are not purposefully set into place and lived out, we can feel stressed because things will be left undone, relationships will be neglected, and we may feel empty when all is said and done.

First, what are your priorities? What SHOULD they be?

Is your life reflecting your priorities?

Are you putting time into valuable areas of your life like your relationship with God, your marriage, and your children?

Second, when you feel overwhelmed throughout the day, think about what your circumstantial priorities are and make a list in your head or on paper to work towards accomplishing what needs to get done!

Maybe you need to focus on getting dinner done rather than dusting or running an errand.
Maybe you need to take care of a sick child’s needs rather than have a polished “To Do – Done” list.
Maybe you need to take a break because if you don’t, you won’t be able to make it through the day.
Maybe you need to put something on hold so you can attend to something else.

Evaluate your priorities from time to time to help guide you as your day progresses.

Take action: As you are living out your day, be mindful of your priorities – both the things you value in life the most and the urgent needs of the day.
